The Red Tent 

I'll try not to make this a TMI post, but I have spent the last few days hanging out with my sisters. The book The Red Tent, by Anita Diaman, came to mind.

Even though I read it years ago, the part that touched me and I remember the most is the red tent that women would go to during that time of the month or when giving birth. Men were not allowed inside, girls would enter with their mothers.

What a wonderful support system these women were for each other. Thinking there is still a need for red tents.
